Launching Melee Weapons of Brutality

Awesome Melee Weapons & Vikings

Ever since we released Inventory Pro two years ago, we've been asked numerous times if we'd start doing art assets at some point.

Well fellas, today is the day! Made by the amazing developers at Danish indie studio StonePlant Studios and published by Joris and I at Devdog, our very first art asset for Unity released this week.

Melee Weapons of Brutality is a complete low-poly Viking-inspired melee weapon pack with an animated and mechanim-ready main character with several high-quality animations and 19 detailed weapons and shields with decals.

What are The Main Features?

If you want more details, be sure to check out our forum thread, but in short, here are a few things we'd like to highlight:

  • Apart from the decals, there are no textures, which allows the asset to render super quickly, perfect for mobile devices

  • Unique visual fidelity

  • Package includes an out-of-the-box demo scene and environment

  • Highly customizable and useful for any mobile and PC game

  • Decals, such as blood, can be added to all weapons allowing for infinite variations of your items

What Does the Package Include?

We wanted to make sure that you would have enough weapons and shields to chose from, so the Melee Weapons of Brutality package includes:

  • 3 long swords
  • 5 axes
  • 1 warhammer
  • 3 daggers and short swords
  • 1 manchette
  • 1 maze
  • 2 clubs (1 spike and 1 normal)
  • 3 shields
  • 1 fully animated Viking character with swappable beards that can wear and use all weapons and shields

As always, we'd love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for the package, and if you decide to check it out, be sure to leave us a rating on the Asset Store.

5 Ways to Identify if a Unity Asset is Worth Buying

A few weeks ago, we bought a Unity Asset that really let us down.

In developing our own assets, we spend a lot of time on the Asset Store, researching the market and getting inspired.

Taking Inventory Pro Item Collections To The Extreme

Item Collections in Inventory Pro are powerful collections that can contain items, stack, unstack, merge items and much, much more.

As we'll soon see, however, these features aren't only useful when creating a traditional RPG inventory system, but can be used in many aspects of your game.
